Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans had expressed its support for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
