A Pair of Suspects Charged with Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder following the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by investigating officers.

Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were taken as evidence.
